Competing in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, Oct. 11-16, Wilmington CC, Wilmington, DE were Jay Donovan of New Britain, Jeff Hedden of Waterford, Chet Hrostek III of New Milford, Richard Nappi of Kensington, Joseph Sommers of Stamford and David Szewczul of Farmington. Hedden lost in the first round of match play. Donovan, Hrostek, Nappi, Sommers and Szewczul did not qualify for match play. ... Elizabeth Janangelo of West Hartford and Duke University finished tied for first in the Franklin Street Partners Invitational, Chapel Hill, NC, Oct. 5.

Competing in the U.S. Men's State Team Competition, Sept. 16-18, Charles River CC, Newton Centre, MA were Jerry Courville of Milford, Justin Goodhue of Glastonbury and Jeff Hedden of Waterford. The team finished 6th. ... Competing in the U.S. Women's State Team Competition, Sept. 16-18, Wellesley CC, Wellesley Hills, MA were Nicole Coffey of Bristol, Daria Cummings of Monroe and Sheila Torgan of New Canaan. The team finished 35th. ... Competing in the U.S. Amateur Championship, Aug. 18-24, Oakmont CC, Oakmont, PA were Jerry Courville of Milford, Jared Eglowsky of Riverside, Justin Goodhue of Glastonbury, Jeff Hedden of Waterford and Andy Svoboda of Stamford. Courville lost in the quarterfinal round of match play. Svoboda lost in the first round of match play. Eglowsky, Goodhue and Hedden did not qualify for match play. ... John Jamgochian won top individual honors in leading Connecticut to the New England Junior Championship title at Biddeford-Saco CC, Saco, ME. Other members of the state team were Masayuki Kobayashi, K.J. Camera, Brent Paladino, Evan Beirne, Scott Cruff and Kyle Morris.

Marika Lendl of Goshen and Courtney Tincher of Greenwich competed in the U.S. Girls Junior Championship, July 21-26, Brooklawn CC, Fairfield, CT. Lendl lost in the first round of match play. Tincher did not qualify for match play. ... Peter Stevens of Waterbury was named the first head coach for men's golf at Teikyo Post University in Waterbury. ... Cameron Wilson of Rowayton won the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship (9-10 division) in San Diego, CA.
