Tip 2: Conditioning & Stretching
As a teaching professional, I see and work with golfers of all shapes and sizes. Some have bodies that don't bend, while others have the body of Gumby. We have bad backs, knees, hips, shoulders, necks and whatever else. While trying to play better golf and maybe learn a better golf swing, all these little problems get in the way. In order to make a swing improvement, we should first make sure that we can physically do what we are trying to do. If we can't, then this is when the golfer has to start a stretching and strengthening program. A good PGA teacher will be able to tell you what areas of your body you should be stretching, and how to do it. And it's important that you do the stretches every day so your swing will improve sooner. A good warm-up session before you head out to play should include both stretching and ball-striking. It will help you attain lower scores, and, most important, allow you to have more fun.
