The Black Course is a lot nicer than the Red. It's not the nicest course, but you usually don't have to wait. And the price isn't bad.

What a difference a week makes. Okay, maybe 10 days. The greens on the Black are in much better shape. Played on April 17 and it was great. The greens were rolling true, and the bunkers were in play. Love this course!

Well, the back is open and we played it Sunday. Sad to say, I was underwhelmed. We had played the Red earlier in the past week and, frankly, the greens on the Red were in better shape than those on the Black. The Black greens need work, they were very bumpy. Also, the bunkers were treated as ground under repair, another ding. Don't get me wrong -- I love this course. I fully expect that in a few weeks it will be in great shape. But after holding it closed for as long as they did, I was hoping it would have been in better shape. Let's hope. And BTW, the Red is actually a fun course to play. Forgive the bunkers and the heinous hills on the 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th holes. It's a fun track.

Played the Red course today. The course was in better shape than I expected, but still not great. Most bunkers are hard dirt or impromptu water hazards. Greens were bumpy and inconsistent as were the fairways. With a little spring maintenance, the course should be decent in a month. The Black course will be opening this week. I'm curious to see its condition.
