I recently played Lyman. Because of an outing we were scheduled to play the Player course. I played it when it first opened and did not enjoy it then and I quickly realized why. I'm sorry I did not get a chance to play the Jones course because it was always one of my favorite courses in the area. It's too bad the same care was not used to design the Player course. It plays like a course that had a finite amount of land and the course was force-fit into the property. The condition was about a 4 out of 10 and the only comment from the previous writer was that there are no sand traps. They are filled with the type of dirt I would find in my yard. As far as the greens being true, maybe that was the case in May, but it is not the case now. Plenty of weeds, and wouldn't it be wonderful if only 50 percent of those who play would fix ball marks? That's if they know how. I could go on, but there is no need. I won't ever play the Player course again. And, please, don't even begin to compare Lyman, even the Jones course, to Fox Hopyard. They are in different worlds.

Well, as a member here myself, I cannot talk bad about Lyman. They always put in a good effort to keep the course in great shape, and lately it has been playing very challenging. The greens are not the fastest in the area, but are much more interesting than other courses. Fairways and rough are always perfect, and the greens roll true. Only downside, there are no sand traps, only dirt traps! Otherwise, you should have a fun day at Lyman, probably tied with Fox Hopyard as the nicest course in the area.
