Played the back nine on Labor Day weekend and the course is in really rough shape. Tee boxes were hard as a rock with no grass, and many areas of the fairway were almost as bad. Seemed to be either dried mud and rock hard or muck, but little in between. It's too bad. The course had been in better shape earlier in the year and they have a great staff on site. I understand this isn't Pebble Beach, but for the same rates as other local courses, I expect a little better. The front nine was busier and may have been in better shape, but I didn't play it.

I am glad new management moved in. An old course with a lot of history. It does need a lot of work, so let's hope new management gets in gear for the 2010 season. I play here almost every weekend and you cannot beat the prices and great tee times. So it looks very promising.

Played on May 10. Course was in very poor shape. Clearly, the management needs to address a number of issues. Most greens were okay, but all needed to be mowed. Tee boxes are a disgrace. Yardage markers are largely non-existent. It wouldn't take much work to make the course nice again, but I won't be back until they commit to making it worth the money I'm spending.

The new head professional is Al Pascale. His background, knowledge and track record of providing an excellent customer experience for first-time and repeat golfers alike will be a great addition to this course. I look forward to a great season!

Keney GC and Goodwin GC are both under new management for 2009. American Golf no longer has the contract. I believe they both will be run by MDM Golf of Hamden. If anyone has any information about greens fees or new policies, please let us know.
